At Musical Theater Society Berlin, we are thrilled to introduce our latest venture – an amateur show choir that aims to bring together passionate individuals from all walks of life to celebrate the magic of musical theater and pop music in harmony. Our primary goal is to create an inclusive space where everyone, regardless of their singing prowess, background, or duration of stay in Berlin, can join in the musical festivities. There are no auditions, and no long-term commitments are required. We believe in providing an open and welcoming environment where your love for singing can thrive.

Whether you're a seasoned performer or a beginner taking your first steps into the world of musical theater, our choir offers solo opportunities and the chance to sing in a harmonious group setting. We believe that every voice contributes to the beauty of our ensemble, and we encourage individual expression within the collective symphony.

Our performances go beyond mere singing. With light staging and dancing incorporated into our shows, you'll have the chance to create unforgettable moments on stage. 

Engage in the camaraderie of group rehearsals, explore your individuality through small group sessions, and take center stage with solo opportunities. No pressure to perform if you prefer a more laid-back approach, but for those seeking the spotlight, both small and large-scale performance opportunities abound, including our annual revue "A Walk Down Broadway" where the theme is decided by the group. Join us in spreading joy through caroling in the Kiez every December. Singing takes precedence, but for those eager to dance, opportunities to showcase or learn new skills await in this vibrant community of artistic expression.

Your first rehearsal is our treat – a complimentary invitation to immerse yourself in the melodies and camaraderie. If you decide to continue this musical journey, the subscription is 25€ per month, ensuring that the joy of singing remains accessible. Existing MTS members can seamlessly join the show choir at a discounted rate of 17,50€ per month (separate from any other fees you pay within MTS) – get in touch to become a member. No need to worry about additional costs for performances; your membership covers it all, and you're welcome to add your personal touch to costumes as you please. 

Rehearsals for our show choir are scheduled every Monday (except Bank Holidays and some weeks that coincide with other MTS performances) at Alte Feuerwache E.V in Kreuzberg, providing a consistent musical space from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Feel free to tailor your attendance to your schedule; attend as many or as few rehearsals as you wish. However, keep in mind that extra rehearsals may become compulsory leading up to specific performances. During August and September, additional choreography sessions on Thursdays are available for those eager to explore the dance aspect of our performances. Rehearsals vary in nature – some focus on building our repertoire, others involve workshops to refine skills, and there are themed evenings where you're encouraged to perform in a supportive environment, utilising the group as a platform for personal growth as a performer. It's a dynamic mix designed to accommodate your preferences and nurture your artistic development.

Throughout the summer, we have various small concerts sprinkled across the season. However, the spotlight shines on our "main event," A Walk Down Broadway, taking place from September 26th to 29th. As we transition into the festive season, our focus turns to Caroling in the Kiez, featuring smaller concerts and enchanting performances at Christmas markets throughout December. It's important to note that participation in all these dates is entirely optional, allowing you to tailor your involvement based on your preferences and availability. To experience our show choir with a free trial, simply sign up on our website. Once registered, you'll receive a calendar invite for the upcoming entrance date. When you decide to officially join, confirm your spot each month by conveniently paying the monthly fee through our online store. Please note that fees are due by the 5th of each month, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free process as you continue to be part of our musical community.
